EAC is for innovative and creative organisations that are looking for a different way to learn and improve. It is for organisations who want to:

  • Develop and improve planning, motivation and leadership skills
  • Understand team dynamics and control
  • Improve staff creativity and problem solving ability
  • Improve communication and reduce conflict
  • Improve goal setting and achievement
  • Improve staff confidence and assertiveness

What EAC is not….

EAC is not a riding lesson. All activities take place on the ground and no previous experience of working with horses is necessary or expected.

Why horses?

Horses and people have more in common than you might think. Both are social animals that operate with defined roles within hierarchies. People and horses have personalities, moods, attitudes. In any herd of horses, or team of people, you will find the explorer, the comedian, the challenger, the leader. Horse behaviour reflects people behaviour. Working with horses gives a great opportunity for metaphorical learning.

Horses communicate using only non-verbal language and are oblivious to human hierarchies. This means that there can be no bias in their behaviour based on team roles or position. They are honest communicators and can help participants:

  • Understand what is really going on in a team
  • Communicate better and more creatively
  • Understand the different meanings and behaviours of leadership
  • Improve group decision making
  • Understand the importance of observation in team growth.

Working with horses offers a unique and challenging opportunity for learning and development. The activities are very different from more traditional learning approaches. Participants achieve a deeper, richer learning experience.

Chrysalis have teamed up with The HARP Partnership who have specialised in Equine Assisted Learning since 2005 and are EAGALA qualified.

Our knowledge and experience of both people development horse behaviour means that participants have the safe support they need to challenge themselves and apply their learning to their own working environment.

Equine Assisted Coaching is designed to progress the whole person and the team and can cover a wide range of issues including:

  • Motivation Skills
  • Creativity and Lateral Thinking
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Goal Setting
  • Leadership Skills
  • Team Dynamics

EAC is flexible. It can be delivered through one off sessions or a programme and can be combined with more traditional training methods and/or diagnostic models such as Belbin or Myers Briggs.

It can be a fun team building event or we can focus on specific issues important to the team or organisation.

We will work with you to develop an event specific to your requirements.

We currently work at venues in West Sussex and Surrey and are happy to explore other locations if required.
